2018: Week 15

15th April 2018
I haven't been doing too much this week following last weeks sad news. We have been having many Trans-Atlantic phonecalls sorting things out and it is just about there now.

Dakota was down for the week which was a welcome distraction, and we did try to get out and do things as far as possible, but rubbish sleep, stress and sorrow it wasn't as exciting a week as I had initially planned.

Monday was a bit of a local day out, taking the kids down to the river to play with Roki and just splash about in the sunshine. It was a good day, I think the first since receiving the news about my brother that felt kinda okay.

Tuesday was another complete collapse. It was a struggle... nothing was lifting me out of the deep sorrow, not even tea.

Wednesday was, again, a better day. We managed to get out to Lowther Park for an Easter Egg Hunt and a massive play on the wooden "Lost Castle" which is probably the best play area anywhere, ever!

Thursday was another day of getting things done, and feeling glum. I did have to chase a sheep out of the garden and back into it's field a few times though.

Friday was the mad drive to Glasgow and back, too tired for it really - but stopped off to see my mate Fuzzy whilst up there for a coffee and bit of a breather before having to face the journey home again.

Saturday was a short photo job for a friend and a good catchup whilst there. It was the first proper job for the D850 too, and it handled it perfectly.

Sunday - got up for an early mountain bike ride with Matt and Geoff. It was only a short hour long route, but it has a LOT of hills in a short distance! I am beat now, but it was good to get out and blow the cobwebs out... and is something I need to do more of to build fitness ready for embarking on the masterplan starting when we get back from the States.
