2018: Week 8

25th February 2018
Another week of limited photography, unfortunately due to circumstance. On Monday I was hit by an evil stomach bug, but went out anyway. Whilst making a hasty exit from the truck I managed to tear my hamstring... I did get a nice photo though afterwards!

Tuesday was an easy spell around Windermere to allow some recovery time, and a bit of a test of the 200-500! It is a beast - going to take some getting used to and practice with, but it looks to be capable of some really nice results!

Wednesday was a trip to the North of the county for a call out or two, again - keeping thigns easy to allow some recovery. I grabbed a panoramic of one of my favourite Lakes scenes from over the years, and one that I revisit quite often.

Thursday saw a stuck manhole cover injuring my hamstring again... I had struggled a little way up Gummers How before hand though to find a photograph for the day, fortunately.

Friday was, therefore, a very quiet one. A quick check of a job out in Swarthmoor and then a stop off to take a photo of Newlands Beck which has been on my list for a very long time. There is more to do here yet as the falls are over quite a good length. With injury though I thought I would start with the bottom section rather than have any scrambling to deal with!

Saturday we popped over to see my wee sister and her other half, plus my Dad, and on the way I had another hamstring damaging incident as we saw a toddler making his way out of a side road and onto the A590 Dual Carriageway unaccompanied. Apparently adrenaline stops pain, and I can still pull off a very, very fast sprint! He was scooped up just as he was about to step onto the road and returned to some absolutely terrified parents.

I only managed a photo of Ed in Roki's bed though!

Today has been glorious but with everything else we haven't done much. Roki also had his "operation" on Friday so he is on an enforced rest period before going out too!

I am quite pleased with this shot of the Hoad though.

So that is about it for this week. I am waiting with baited breath to see what next week brings as the Beast from the East envelops the country in some late winter chill, and there is also the warmth of hope that Corbyn and the Labour Party are about to formally back remaining in the Customs Union with Europe which would be a massive blessing and hopefully save the country from complete economic collapse!
