Another Day, Another Ride

30th May 2013
After a mass drought of mountain biking I have been out two days running, and hopefully going to go for the triple tomorrow!

Today I hit the western side of the Duddon Valley, riding up from Duddon Bridge onto Thwaites Fell before dropping back down the bridleways to Duddon Bridge. Not a long route, but the initial road climb was a killer, followed by a boggy slog across the fell until I picked up an old cart/packhorse trail which was fun and had some interesting sections interspersed with sections of bog.

I did find a superb photo location whilst out on my travels that is worth further investigation sometime when I have time, and a bigger camera rig with me!

The final descent was, without doubt, one of the most entertaining and silly that I have stumbled across in a very long time. Steep with switchbacks as it dropped into the woods, then it got rocky, rooty and savage very, very quickly.

Loads of fun though, and it is definitely doing my head some good!
