Today has been a wee bit different from yesterday, the rain changed and turned into snow. I was off into the upper Eden Valley today and getting there was an adventure in itself! Most of the day has been spent driving steadily and making use of 4 wheel drive between bouts of getting damn cold!

Still... it was worth it!

Taking these photographs gave me cause to think about the E-M5 and the new E-M5 II. I have been using the camera mounted on tripod more and more which brings me to thinking about the new 40MP mode on the new version. It is a "tripod only" mode as the sensor shifts by 1/2 pixel each frame for 8 frames which it then combines into a single, massively high resolution image. For me this would be killer - higher resolution than the D800E in such a small, compact form factor. A small increase in dynamic range and image quality would be welcome (a large increase would be even better, but that is asking too much).

Yep, exciting new camera with an interesting technological shift. What comes next, well, that may be even more interesting!
