Hot hot hot!

08th July 2013
Too hot infact, been horribly sticky all day and the boys have been grouchy.

Most of the day was spent waiting for the man from British Gas to turn up and fit the new boiler, or at least make a start on it. He is scheduled to be here all week, it is quite some job - but the end result will be more reliable, controllable and economical heating. As well as a dry utility room floor.

I popped out to Cartmel in the afternoon though to do a quick job and break in the 50mm lens which also arrived around lunchtime today. I am liking the lens itself, and relishing the challenge of shooting with only a "normal" prime for a while. It is a great way to really work on composition and technique!

Fitness training took a dive over the weekend with the rally, so this week I am hitting the healthy eating hard - especially since running is out until the boiler is fixed (and the temperature drops a bit). I need to redouble my efforts though, especially as I have a big day of mountain biking coming up in a couple of weeks or so!

Finally the death of the PEN E-PL1 camera has spawned a replacement in the form of an Olympus PEN E-P1. It's big brother with more manual control. Looking forward to that one!
