Mad Dash to the Upper Duddon

18th January 2015
This afternoon I made a mad dash up the Duddon Valley. Having spent all day, and most of last night, looking after a poorly wee boy I needed a little bit of down time. I had planned to go for a run, but having missed the light yesterday up the Duddon Valley it seemed a good choice to head up there with Jake so he could run around in the snow and I could get the shot that I had planned.

The light was, alas, not as good. There were no snow storms sweeping in with golden light spilling through. I was also running about 10 minutes late due to the build up of ice on the narrow, winding roads so I made a quick reassessment of my planned shoot and ditched it for my second option.

My thoughts heading up the Duddon - there is so much to photograph in that valley, which has long been my favourite. It has an ancient feel to it and reminds me so much of my beloved Scottish Highlands.

When I got home I had two thoughts. The little Olympus camera is stormingly good, and my Mojo is coming back - finally! It has been absent since the end of 2008 with occasional exception, but so far this year I have been picking up the consistancy and pushing the quality back where it belongs with it!

All in all, not a bad day - especially considering how I felt first thing!
