Rain Rain Rain....

19th December 2013
It has been a pretty grim day today.

Started off with a dash up to Swarthmoor to get some new tyres on the truck, the Bridgestone Dueller 840s were doing a grand job of lobbing me towards the scenery with alarming regularity - so with the onset of winter, and rumours that it could be a pretty severe one - off they came, despite being only half worn, and on went a full set of Cooper Discoverer AT3s which are, all things considered, considerably more serious in their intended application!

Now I don't go off road all that much, it is true - couple of forrays into the fields a week perhaps... the odd farm track here and there... mucky building sites now and again... but these all terrain tyres are the bomb in the wet and in the snow. So worth a try then.

Whilst that was happening I popped back into Ulverston on the mountain bike to drop it off for it's final bout of extensive surgery (for the moment) following the hammer attack back in September. The forks are still a mess, but this was to sort them out *enough* to get me riding again in the short to medium term. Whilst that was in I had time to head off for a hair cut, then take the scenic route back up to Swarthmoor:

Car picked up and it was a mad dash around to try and fit in some jobs, alas the rain came down hard so they were aborted before they got off the ground.

Chilling out now - I have a fairly heavy day tomorrow and then that is it until the New Year! Two weeks off... bliss!
