Off to see Mum

09th March 2015
Well... "see" isn't really the right word.

Every so often I like to pop by where my Mum's ashes were scattered and spend a little time chatting to her, asking her advice and telling her what is going on in life. I always come away sad, but eased at the same time - I miss having here there in person to talk to in this way.

I don't really know what my point is here, I will no doubt revist it in the future too though as I plan to take some photographs around "her" woods as the spring progresses.

I took this photograph shortly before she passed away, and it won an award shortly after she had gone.

I suppose my thoughts are - photographs can embody much more than simply the view/scene/image of the person. They become attached to the emotions of the time, and a simple scene like this tree in the rain can bring back embedded memories long after the event, or even about something or someone else entirely.
