Operation De-Blubber... Update

14th July 2013
Things are not going well at the moment, too tired to exercise and diet has not been stellar, so results have stalled.

But I have been reading a book, which I will have to write a bit of a review of later, called "Why We Get Fat and What to do About it" by Gary Taubes. Whilst I haven't finished it yet it is making a LOT of sense both in terms of my understanding of the biology and my much deeper understanding of both human evolution and anthropology. I haven't quite got to the main crux of the "what to do about it" side of things yet so I am not wanting to go into too much detail yet, but it looks like the answer is worryingly close to an "Atkins" type principal which I have always been dead set against.

However, the descriptions of the biology - which is something always lacking in accounts - make it seem both obvious and desirable. It is probably slightly closer to the GI Diet in principle, which sits much easier with me, but we are going to have a bit of a play with the concept and see what happens.

More on this in a few weeks once we have had a go and can draw some meaningful conclusions!

Otherwise today has been spent having a picnic on the banks of Coniston Water, and having a drive around Blawith Common. Another cracking day out!
