Summertime... Where Art Thou

09th August 2016
It has been a thoroughly autumnal time of late, the jet stream is off on it's adventures and throwing Atlantic low after Atlantic low in our direction like an unruly toddler having a complete melt down.

Kind of fitting really given how some people are behaving at the moment... but hopefully both the weather as well as the attitudes will improve soon!

There is little news though! I have made a first attempt at some nighttime photography which, unfortunately, seems to have resulted in one of the rubber tips from my tripod legs going walk about. Given the head is also past its best (as in it isn't really working at all well anylonger) I think I had best start thinking in terms of a refurbishment!

I have a spare tripod, fortunately, although one of the lower leg sections falls out if you aren't careful with it!

Things, then, are not going so well. At least not in terms of supports!

But its the Summer Holidays, the boys are off and having adventures whenever and wherever possible. We have only managed to book a very, very short (lastminute) break this year to the non-so-tropical West Highland Riviera. I am going to try and make it up to them by having more local adventures between now and back to school however. One of the advantages of living in the Lake District is that opportunities for such things are everywhere you look! Not that we did too badly last weekend up in the Lothians (and with the added benefit of their sister being with us - whom they absolutely love spending time with, despite the long journey and discomfort that they have to put up with).

But that is about it for now.
