The (Long) Road to Recovery

26th May 2016
Things have moved on nicely since the last update - I was back in Furness General yesterday to have the staples removed, have some X-Rays taken and have the whole job assessed by the specialist. Everything went well, he is very happy and now I am onto the long process of rebuilding localised strength and flexibility as well as the fitness that has seeped away since the start of September!

I started things off today with a whopping 1/2 mile walk. Jake the Dog was most unimpressed with the brevity of it all! So a slow start to the rehabilitation then! Tomorrow I suspect will be similar before trying to slowly edge it up through next week.

I am pretty pleased with where I have got to at this stage though, so onwards and upwards - with a final (I think) check up in 3 months to make sure everything has got back to normal (or better than normal, this has been an issue for 25 years to some extent afterall!)

(Furness General, hopefully my last visit for some time!)
